Project 8: Me First "Dubstep"

THIS IS FINALLY DONE!
Took me a while for me to complete this. Especially when I was gone for vacation.

To me, I wouldn't entirely consider this as "dubstep". I would note this as more as a Techno tune than anything else. Then again, it can be noted as any other genre for all I know and care.

I used a BUNCH of 3x OSC in this one, as you can clearly hear. I had slight trouble making the wobble noise (say like the bass in the middle of the tune) like dubstep artists make theirs. I used FL Slayer for guitars and also the bass you'll throughout. I also managed to balance out the sounds sort of equally so none of them would seem quiet all of a sudden (like in some of my other projects). I am a bit iffy on the ending, kinda feeling like I could of edited it or even improve it more in some way. I only used PoiZone once in this, and that's mainly heard as the bass that comes in at the end.  It is a preset, mainly because I deleted the one I had in there "accidentally" and I didn't feel like doing it all over again.

If you wondering how I got the talking robot thing in the song (saying stuff like "Are you read?", "1, 2, 3, go!", etc.), I used the Speech synthesizer channel. It's not entirely hard to use; just basically put down some text and it'll say it out. You can adjust the pitch and the rate it'll say it, which might be only flaw about using this channel.

So there you go. That's another project completed. Onward to the next one! :D

  1. Great use of 3Xosc- one of my favorite synths.
I like the volume envelope in the beginning, but be careful not to overwhelm the listener with too much. Nice panning on the guitar. Make sure all of your parts agree harmonically though. I'd drop the bass down an octave in this.
